With Ramadan round the corner, bazaars will be mushrooming all over the place. But a jewellery bazaar is ordinarily not what comes to mind. ZUHAILA SEDEK tells you more.

A JEWELLERY bazaar. Now that’s something lovers of precious stones would look out for, especially as Syawal approaches.

And at the four-day Habib Merdeka Bazaar, they would be spoilt for choice.

Starting this Friday, it will be held in selected showrooms across the nation: Ampang Point, Plaza Angsana in Johor Bahru, Gurney Plaza in Penang, Central Square in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Mydin Mall in Kuala Terengganu, The Spring in Kuching, Sarawak and One Borneo in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, among others.

With Merdeka just around the corner, special discounts and promotions await customers. Customers can also expect a host of activities during the bazaar.
“The price of gold is getting lower by the day now and we have always had the intention to reward our loyal customers in the best way we can, which is why we come up with the event. What’s more, despite the low market price of gold, we’ve taken a step further by lowering the price by another RM7,” said Habib’s retail manager Zaruddin Mahmud.

To make things more exciting, men can have items designed according to their fancy.

The first 100 customers will be able to purchase a one-gramme 916 gold pendant at RM78.

On the second day, there will be a midnight special sale where the showrooms will be extending their operating hours to midnight and the customers will be able to purchase borong-style.

On the third day, a lucky draw will be held, with customers getting a sneak peak of Habib’s Raya Collection on the last day of the bazaar.

“Since the last day falls on the first day of Ramadan, we will break fast with the public,” said Zaruddin.

Several celebrities attended the media preview to announce the bazaar.

Among them were Diana Danielle, Nabil Raja Lawak, Kenchana Devi, and Dee and Kumar from the series Gerak Khas.
